Porch Perceptions

Under the umbrella of Roy Street Collective, I have collaborated with
architects and local talent to produce multi-media events featuring my
work. These shows have taken place in various locations; from abandoned
buildings to museums. I now divide my time between Montreal, Pouch
Cove, Newfoundland and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I use architecture as a
metaphor to describe what predominantly inspires me about a place: the
people and their culture. My present concern is with an organic architecture
that is culturally linked and socially connected to a genus loci, or sense of
place. In light of the corporatization of our environment and a pervasive
belief in our culture that human beings are separate from nature, I feel that
my work has a significant application to our perception of the planet.
