From  the  beginning of my career  as an artist I could  see that I  was  not
destined to follow any of the conventional paths available, and so I became
a renegade. My collaboration  with hands  on architects and a  vision  of
creating an art scene in  Montreal’s hip neighbourhood, Plateau Mont-Royal,
led me to purchase an old fish warehouse at 111 Roy Street. It was here that
I invited the community at large as well as artists, poets, architects, musicians,
crafts  people,  dancers, and circus  performers to  participate  in  mounting
large scale, multi-media events, all under the dynamic umbrella of Roy Street
                           Collective.
At  the same time, I was painting industrial sites in and around
Montreal. Since the building evolved into my home and studio, and architecture
became the theme of my work, there was little separation between my life and
                           career.
